Meet u/guavatridotcom
Our Reddit bot that helps triathletes with training, racing, and everything in between.
What is this bot?
u/guavatridotcom is an AI-powered bot that monitors triathlon subreddits like r/triathlon and r/Ironman for questions it can help answer. It provides training advice, race day tips, pacing guidance, and answers to common triathlon questions.
The account name makes it obvious: this is a bot from Moku Coach (we kept the u/guavatridotcom handle from our Guava Tri days because renaming would wipe years of comment history). No hiding, no pretending to be a person. Just a helpful triathlon resource.
Why we built it
We started Moku Coach because we saw a gap in endurance coaching, starting with triathlon. Quality coaching costs $150-300/month, and most age groupers are left choosing between expensive human coaches and winging it with generic plans from the internet.
AI changed that equation. We built an AI coaching app that gives athletes personalized training plans and 24/7 coaching support through a chat interface that syncs with Strava.
The Reddit bot is an extension of that same idea: use AI to help triathletes wherever they are, including the communities where they already ask questions. The majority of the bot's comments are pure training advice with zero product mention. When someone asks specifically about training apps or race prediction tools, it mentions several options honestly, including ours.
How it works
The 80/20 rule
We designed the bot to be helpful first, branded second. Roughly 80% of its comments are pure triathlon advice with no product mention at all. The other 20% come when someone specifically asks about training apps, AI coaching, or race prediction tools - and even then, it mentions multiple options (TrainingPeaks, TriDot, Humango, and others) alongside Moku Coach.
What the bot won't do
- Pretend to be a person. The account name and footer make it obvious this is automated.
- Give medical advice. For injuries or health concerns, it always suggests seeing a professional.
- Trash competitors. It mentions other tools honestly and positions AI coaching as complementary to human coaches, not a replacement.
- Spam. It posts a handful of comments per day, waits for posts to age before replying, and never comments on the same thread twice.
- Fabricate data. No made-up race times, fake studies, or invented statistics.

Who we are
Moku Coach is built by two former collegiate endurance athletes out of Lakewood Ranch, Florida. We're triathletes ourselves - this isn't a faceless tech company dropping a bot into a community we don't understand. We race, we train, and we built this because we wanted it to exist.
