A 2-lap, mostly freeway bike with a big climb at each lap end, a run with two 2 km (1.2 mi) climbs and aid every 1 km (0.6 mi). - Team PHenomenal Hope (Amanda Budzowski)Raced 2015 · blog · Mixed
First-timer's report: stunning swim at Dunagree Beach with mountains behind, a bike on the Subic-Tarlac Expressway after a start down the old runway, and an exposed, flat run in temperatures in the 90s F (32 C+). Heat was the hardest part and smoke from a roadside field fire affected her breathing near mile 17 (27 km (16.8 mi)).
“I underestimated what a difference the heat would make.”
