Chris liked this small race’s park and riverfront paths and its downtown start and finish by the Iowa state capitol. The course felt flat; despite some wind, he considered the weather ideal and finished in 3:43.

Inside Columbia writer Jane Steinbrecher praised Cooper's Landing's renovated indoor restrooms.
Community opinion; participation and firsthand experience are not established. Attributed outside-race amenity opinion from a local publication writer; personal visit and inspection are unverified. The race explicitly allows use of Cooper's Landing amenities subject to normal operating hours and policies, making the restroom appraisal relevant as limited venue context. The listing does not individually guarantee these indoor facilities or overnight access. Article date and visit date are unknown; renovations and later conditions are not assigned to race day. This is not a course, campsite, race-service, sanitation or accessibility assessment, and no race attendance, completed distance or numerical rating is claimed.
RTM described Cousler Park’s longer paved walking loop as wonderful and a favorite part of the park.
Community opinion; participation and firsthand experience are not established. An attributed community opinion of Cousler Park’s longer paved walking loop, described by RTM as roughly 1.4 miles (2.3 km) and by the municipality as 1.47 miles (2.37 km). The current marathon’s mapped 1.09-mile (1.75 km) out-and-back leg shares some outer-path portions and omits the western closure near the pond; these lengths do not describe equivalent whole routes. The broad loop appraisal does not isolate every shared section. Attendance, firsthand traversal, visit date and year, affiliation and historical layout are unverified. This is one older walking-loop opinion, not marathon or race-day feedback, a whole-course review, a safety assessment, or evidence of current amenities, services and conditions.
Stephen enjoyed the bagpipes and recognition of returning runners. He found the weather pleasant until it warmed late, and used the four-loop course and encouragement from family and other runners to keep going. Knee soreness and fatigue led to walking breaks; he finished in 5:22, improving on the previous year.

Jenn’s strongest memory was companionship: walking, talking and laughing with friends helped her through a difficult overnight effort. She valued the shared experience more than a finish-time result.
Reported format: 100 km (62.1 mi) solo foot ultra, mostly walked.
