The organizer recalls operating Run S’more 24 for six years at a financial loss and deciding against repeating it, before reconsidering a return in response to demand for a trail-running campout.
Perspective: event staff; this affiliated account is not an independent participant review. An organizer’s own retrospective on the operational sustainability of past Run S’more 24 editions. The writer is affiliated with Silver Circle Sports Events, signs as RD, and does not provide a participant review. The six past editions are not dated, and no individual runner’s distance is established. The same post makes the proposed return conditional on registrations; this account does not confirm that condition was met or assess the current course, athlete support, value, or safety. No numerical rating is assigned.
David found the small looped race flat and enjoyed sharing laps with other runners. Humidity made sustaining his pace difficult, and he wanted fuller drink cups. The director’s lap announcements and a personally satisfying finish made the effort worthwhile.
A 2025 full-marathon account at Fernbrook Elementary in Maple Grove. The 2027 Minneapolis event now lists Taft Park in Richfield; the old loop, bridge and aid arrangement do not describe that venue. The director’s reported flexibility on the 2025 cutoff is not a current guarantee. Other cities’ Bound for Boston races are excluded.
Chris described a scenic course through Turku’s historic centre, riverfront and nearby countryside. He found it mostly flat with short rolling hills, appreciated the moderate temperature and finished in 3:50.
A personal 2024 full-marathon account by Chris Boundy. Historical course, weather and support observations may differ from later editions. The brief diary comes from a runner pursuing marathon country and state goals.
A 2019 Reykjavik first-marathon finisher loved the cheering and striking coastal views. Starting too far back caused early congestion, and the later hills were tough, but finishing with strong crowd encouragement felt deeply rewarding.
Antin enjoyed the festive lights and nighttime atmosphere, settling into a steady four-lap effort. Darkness made it hard to see ahead, and repeated hills required care. He liked the frequent chances for water but disliked discarded bottles and gel wrappers along the road.
Antin’s account of the inaugural 2021 full marathon. It describes the fixed marathon rather than the overnight distance challenge; lighting, hills and aid observations are historical.
A runner recalling an older End of Summer race liked the flat course and quiet atmosphere, but said strong wind and sand on parts of the boardwalk made running quickly difficult. Their group took turns sheltering one another from the wind.
A self-reported memory posted in 2023 about a race roughly ten years earlier. The exact year and distance are unknown. It provides historical End of Summer event context, with no claim that those conditions or operations persist. The current primary describes a revised full-marathon loop layout. No organizer affiliation is stated.
A 2011 Songkhla full-marathon finisher appreciated smooth roads, a largely flat out-and-back, bridges and frequent iced-water aid. He liked the closed highway space and local hospitality, while finding the second half personally demanding.
Halpenny criticized the hydration setup at Wisconsin’s Boston Bound race and said she and a friend stepped in to refill and hand out drinks to runners.
Perspective: race volunteer; this is not a finisher review. Her historical account of helping with hydration at the Wisconsin Boston Bound event, matched to this race family by its state, name and Five Star operator. She says she and a friend refilled and handed out drinks after finding the setup inadequate. Her actual race year, historical venue and course, running division and other affiliation are unknown; no race participation or finish is claimed. The owner apologized for the frustrations, thanked them for helping and said the concerns were being reviewed. That response is not an independent account or proof of current changes. Her financial-motive accusation, stars, flat-and-fast comparison, toilet comments and overall invective are excluded. No current hydration or wider service condition is asserted.
