Seymour enjoyed the smooth Lake Dunstan trail from Clyde to Cromwell and preferred finishing in the heritage precinct. On his hot day, exposure stood out more than the two climbs, and he saw few other runners.
Source context and limitations
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. A 2021 independent trail-run review on commercial directory and members' club Wild Things, before the marathon began. This concerns the shared 37.3km Clyde-to-Cromwell trail corridor, rather than the entire 42.2km race with its extensions. It establishes course familiarity, not race attendance, aid provision or other event services.
