The writer enjoyed a varied coastal route, the finisher medal and generous finish refreshments. Narrow bike paths, uneven paving and repeated small rises required attention. Aid stations worked well, although opening the supplied gel packets was awkward. The shirt design was disappointing.

The writer’s sightseeing had already tired his legs. Course, surfaces and services describe that edition, and may change. This is the Björn Borg event, separate from Helsinki City Marathon and the standalone Helsinki Half Marathon.
