Iris Regalado · 2006
Iris valued cheering spectators, friendly conversations with other runners and strong family and club support. The exposed late miles became intensely hot, but she reached the stadium delighted to finish her first full marathon. Personal roadside drinks and encouragement helped her through.
Source context and limitations
A historical full-marathon account dated to 2006 by its progression from November 2005 to the following August 6. The writer belonged to the organizing Club Corredores del Istmo, and relatives provided extensive personal support. The former stadium route and timing differ from today; this is the longstanding International Marathon, not the separate Panama City Marathon operation.
