    The first-time marathoner loved mountain views and felt proud of finishing, but long steep climbs and descents were punishing. A crowded narrow opening led to an ankle twist, and some shuttle passengers had to stand for an hour. Later rain brought relief, while aid helped them through a difficult return.

    Source context and limitations

    A pseudonymous first-time marathoner’s 2010 account of the former summer race. The official 2026 event is a revival after a long gap; the old route, crowded start, shuttles and aid cannot be assumed to continue. The complete canonical article was read through the public reader; direct archive access returned 403.
