Jillisa Carter, quoted by Kayla Lewis (WCJB) · 2024

Carter, who ran the 5K with coworkers, liked supporting the Hawthorne Area Resource Center and said the charitable cause made her want to return to the event.

    Source context and limitations

A media-selected quotation from a 5K runner at the former Hawthorne venue in April 2024. It concerns the event’s charitable purpose, not the marathon course or services. The current listing names Ridge Manor in Brooksville and contains a cancellation notice alongside a proposed April 2027 return, so this account does not confirm a future edition or continued support for the same beneficiary. The athlete’s employer is identified in the article; no race-organizer role is stated.
