David (Goal-Oriented Runner) · 2014
David valued the race’s small-town community, Finnish traditions and familiar runners, but hills and growing heat made the final miles difficult. Early aid gaps felt too long for him. A friendly finish and traditional stew helped, though he was disappointed with his time.
Source context and limitations
A 2014 full-marathon report from Wisconsin, distinct from Finland’s namesake. Poor sleep and personal pacing/hydration shaped the struggle. The current primary describes a revised route toward Hurley, so the old late hills, aid spacing and race traditions should be read as historical.
