  Unnamed Central Montana tourism-office writer

A Central Montana tourism writer recalled a peacefully quiet evening walk on Harlowton’s Smoking Boomer Rail Trail and admired the sunset.

  Source context and limitations

Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. A historical outside-race trail impression published by a tourism office in 2020. Its unnamed writer recalled a walk a couple of years earlier and liked the peaceful evening and sunset. The 2026 marathon description names Boomer Trail in Chief Joseph Park near its finish, but the writer’s walked sections and the old route are unverified. This broad trail appraisal does not isolate the race’s shared portion or describe race-day conditions, services, attendance or the whole marathon.
