Sean Anderson described a 2009 power walk around Boomer Lake on its continuous paved sidewalk as both enjoyable and unusually hard because of the intense heat that day.
Source context and limitations
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Historical outside-race course context from an August 2009 walk around Boomer Lake. The current mapped race uses part of the same paved lakeside circuit, repeated to reach race distance. His difficult heat experience applies only to that old summer day and is not a forecast or typical race condition. This does not review the current route’s full distance, surface, aid or organization. No race-organizer affiliation is stated.
