    Starting an exercise walk beside Sunset Park’s Dunes Overlook, Natalie Burt appreciated the open-air desert setting along the wide paved paths.

    Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Outside-race walking context from a newspaper column published February 12, 2021; the actual visit date and year are unknown. Only the initial paved stretch north of Dune Overlook, beside the parking area south of the lake and before the two-thirds-mile trail fork, is linked to this course. Her broader desert-setting appreciation does not isolate every shared metre.
