A local cyclist described the paved trail through Chiawana Park as wide and fairly smooth, with some welcome tree cover at its western end. The approach from the east was rougher, so the favorable surface description did not apply to every nearby riverfront section.
Source context and limitations
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Outside-race cycling observations from October 2020 on the Chiawana Park and adjoining riverfront portion of the Sacagawea Heritage Trail.
