Jessica and Kevin, interviewed by Rise and Run · 2025
Jessica found the full marathon lonely after the half-marathon runners split away and disliked the uneven roads and potholes. Kevin felt anxious about the time limit, but remembered his police escort’s finish-line music fondly. Staff kept the arch, some food and his medal available for his late finish.
Source context and limitations
Two runners’ full-marathon recollections from 2025, read in the podcast’s published transcript. The show is sponsored and uses affiliate links; the guests are members of its listener community. Their experiences differ by pace, and Jessica’s late-race difficulties were personal. For 2026, the organizer announces route changes, so the road and finish observations may not apply unchanged. Kevin’s late finish does not establish a flexible cutoff policy.
