Dennis Romboy · 2024
Dennis enjoys the rushing river, trees and Bridal Veil Falls along the Provo River Parkway between the canyon mouth and Vivian Park, a ride he and his wife have repeated for years. On their August 2024 outing, a thunderstorm interrupted the ride, leaving mud and rocks on parts of the trail as they headed back.
Source context and limitations
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Historical outside-race cycling context from August 2024 on the canyon-mouth-to-Vivian Park segment used by the 2026 Runtastic Marathon. The organizer says Utah City replaces that race in 2027, but its final route details are pending. Dennis is a Deseret News reporter and this is his personal column, not a race review. The storm describes one past outing; it does not establish current trail conditions, typical race weather, services or safety.
