The timed-ultra runner appreciated a volunteer who repeatedly helped with drinks and fellow runners who cared for them after overheating. The rolling loop had little shade, and afternoon heat made the final laps difficult. The live-results display was hard to interpret. They completed 51 miles, separate from a marathon entry.
