Dane (See Dane Run) · 2009
On his 2009 race along Highway 91, Dane found the early downhill tempting to run aggressively. Once the sun was fully out, the exposed road became difficult for him, and the mountain shade he could see ahead never seemed to get closer.
Source context and limitations
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Historical course context from a different, older Mesquite Marathon on the Highway 91 corridor shared with the currently published 3 State Marathon map. This is a November 2009 experience, not a review of the new 2027 race. Start and finish arrangements, exact course length, weather, traffic management, aid and organization may differ. Dane’s blog promotes his running books, speaking and event consulting; no compensation for this report is disclosed.
