A frequent local runner described the greenway south of Dudley Park as a regular running route where they had personally felt comfortable. They also recalled being startled by a snake beside Oconee Hill Cemetery.
Source context and limitations
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Undated outside-race running observations in an October 2024 discussion, limited to the North Oconee greenway south of Dudley Park beside Oconee Hill Cemetery. Personal comfort and one snake sighting do not establish present safety or wildlife conditions. The current mapped route shares this segment, but the October 2026 map timestamp does not confirm its use in earlier races. This does not review the full repeated marathon, race aid or organization. The account is pseudonymous; no organizer affiliation is stated.
