Reports and event feedback

  • Thomas van Tonder — 2017 Winter Charge ↗

Thomas van Tonder, quoted in Jeep Team media news · 2017

Van Tonder praises the demanding obstacle design and event organization while describing a slippery final rig and competitive pressure.

Complete relevant original BattleRush section and full selected athlete quotation read, published 1 August 2017. Explicit 10 km/thirty-obstacle Winter Charge at Jozi X, Bryanston; exact raced day unstated. Sponsored Jeep Team athlete and media-selected quotation, not independent sampling; entry funding unknown. His own haste/wet-hand explanation is self-report, not an adjudicated organizer fault. The separate opening Whale Trail five-star metaphor belongs to another race and is not transferred or converted into an OCR aggregate. No future 3 km course guarantee.

  • The original national circuit map and host’s own programme identify 11 July 2026 at BattleRush; the federation’s contemporary press announcement specifies a 3 km championship with adult and masters classifications. The host independently places BattleRush at Main Road / Sloane Street, Bryanston. Conflicting street numbers are not resolved by guessing coordinates.
  • The host’s Winter Charge card says June 2025, whereas the 2026 circuit map lists a 20 June qualifier. No corrected qualifier year or unchanged course is inferred. The host’s ordinary 500 m / 1 km training courses are not extra race families or the championship distance.
  • The 2017 Winter Charge account below concerns a historical 10 km / thirty-obstacle race at the same Jozi X property, not an assessment of the 2026 3 km layout. Birthday-party, gym and children’s-camp testimonials do not rate this race. No numerical race score is verified.
