• Julien’s complete original 2016 account independently dates the first Black Rocks to 15 October at Trouville, starting on the beach. It describes a course shortened from an advertised ten kilometres and a personal GPS reading of 7.3 kilometres, neither a certified common distance nor proof of the later member’s route.
• The exact historical start gate remains unknown. Julien criticizes parking, queues before departure, some simple obstacles and the finish layout while praising the scenery, volunteers and finish refreshments. He hosted entry contests; his funding is unstated.
• The native author also reviews Mud Day Cabourg. Repeated handles and companions do not add independent athlete counts. Ordinary sightseeing at the Roches Noires or boat excursions are not substituted for OCR reviews; the film was not watched.
