External published rating · 25 total, 25 visible reviews in the checked source.

Historical event-family HDsports feedback with posts from 2017–2025. All 25 cards were read, including score-only entries and a June 2020 writer hoping a future edition would take place; these are not 25 verified finishers or independent athletes. A named 2018 24 km experience and a 2019 8 km comment do not establish every card’s distance. October 2025 edits are not race dates. This aggregate does not rate the 2027 course.

Source checked 2026-10-26. This is the source’s published rating, not a Moku editorial score. The average may use reviews beyond the visible cards.

Athlete feedback and reports

  • Historical HDsports feedback: Erzberg Dirtrun ↗

    Named and anonymous HDsports contributors

Contributors praise the mine scenery, original obstacles, helpers and atmosphere. Criticism includes too few drinking stations on a hot, demanding route, high refreshment prices, obstacle protection and a 2025 route-marking complaint reporting extra distance. One writer describes the race as closer to a mountain run.

  • Mein Comeback beim Erzberg Dirtrun 24k ↗

    Iris Eckhardt · 2022

Eckhardt finishes the 24 km Extreme with a companion after a difficult return to training. She enjoys the mine setting, mud jump and cooling tunnels, but finds the heat, thousand steps and steep loose descent demanding. The final section is longer than a water-station estimate led her to expect, and she finishes exhausted but proud.

Complete original first-person 2022 report. She explicitly compares the changed opening route with 2019 and describes a 24 km finish; the exact raced day is unstated. Her separate Xcross Run comeback is not an Erzberg finish. No numerical overall is supplied.

  • The organizer announces 8 km on 10 July and 16/24 km on 11 July 2027. The routes include natural and built obstacles in the active mine; longer distances add terrain rather than repeat the same loop.
  • The 8 km entry starts at age 16 with signed parental consent below 18; 16/24 km require age 18. The organizer allows bypassing deep-water obstacles for non-swimmers and requires freedom from vertigo for 24 km.
  • The 8 km detail page still carries a sold-out/additional-Sunday notice explicitly dated July 2026. It is not treated as a 2027 sell-out or extra Sunday announcement. Other operational details may also change.
  • The separately advertised Weekend Warrior combines OCR races with Vertical Iron Sprint. It is not presented here as a continuous long-distance OCR. No stand-alone Vertical Iron Sprint, Erzberg Run or Walk entry is added.
