How to read these ratingsAthlete feedback and reports
- Zeist — 8 km recreational, 24 March 2019 ↗
Jesse van Oort · 2019
Van Oort finds long, technically demanding combinations and substantial queues in his late start group, while enjoying cheerful volunteers, unusual tyre and pallet obstacles and pancakes. He describes roughly 150 minutes on the course.
Complete original signed first-person club report published 8 April 2019, with actual 24 March / 8 km recreational explicit. His estimated crowd sizes and journey time are not verified official results; complete bracelet status is unstated. Its 2019 statement that recreational and KSR obstacles have the same difficulty does not override the separate lighter/harder recreational variants now offered. Highly Recommended is textual and T2/A1 difficulty. No numerical score or compensation disclosure.
- Zeist — KSR return, 2025 ↗
Maarten Postema · 2025
Postema enjoys physically demanding combinations, supportive clubmates and the finish commentary, completing his KSR in 2:01:02 with his bracelet. He finds the heat and arm fatigue challenging and discovers that the pancake stand has run out by the time he returns.
Complete original first-person club report published 2 April 2025; raced year follows its current-run narrative, comparison to March 2023 and preparation for Beltrum 2026, while the exact current day and kilometer distance are unstated. His club/trainer role and prior course reconnaissance by bike are explicit. The separately described junior’s race and volunteer friend are not extra participant reviews. No numerical score or compensation disclosure; old 2:29:49 is his 2023 time, not this finish.
- Zeist — 8 km recreational, 24 March 2019 ↗
Paul Sporrel · 2019
Sporrel enjoys varied obstacles, woodland surroundings, refreshments and encouragement, but encounters waiting and considerable arm fatigue. His two companions lose their bracelets. At a late combination, a volunteer lets him resume after touching the ground without repeating its low section.
Complete original signed first-person federation-selected report published 28 March 2019, explicitly about 24 March and actual 8 km recreational. The allowed restart exception is retained; do not turn reaching the final obstacle into independently verified perfect obstacle completion or an official time. Companions are not extra sources. Historical course only, no numerical satisfaction score or compensation information.
- Zeist — recreational race, March 2017 ↗
FitMudMarion · 2017
The recreational runner finds the technical combinations much harder than expected and appreciates friendly volunteers, advice and refreshments. She uses an easier available lane to conserve energy and eventually finishes with her bracelet in about 2:15.
Complete original first-person blog report. Title gives 19 March 2017 and publication is 27 March; the opening says Saturday but later says Sunday, so that day inconsistency is not silently resolved. Actual chosen distance is unstated. The writer describes recreational assistance/options and a fall into water, not a licensed competition finish. Brand/shoe praise is present, with payment or gifted entry unconfirmed. No numerical overall rating.
- The dated registration confirms 21 March 2027, while the homepage still describes 22 March 2026. Recreational 5 km starts at age 8 and 8 km at 15. KSR requires a licence and BSR registration. Dedicated 4 km children’s and junior-only competitions are excluded.
- The 2027 entry separates a harder qualification-oriented 8 km Prestatief route from a lighter recreational variant. Old accounts describing identical recreational and competition obstacles do not override that new distinction. Historic race observations and braceleted finishes retain their actual edition and division.
