Event identity is an explicit cross-post inference: the same author’s 7 September named Gold Reef City preview and 15 September uShaka retrospective announce the forthcoming Gold Reef trip; the November three-race recap names Gold Reef as the second race. The completion post itself does not name the venue. Exact raced day, length, verified finish and funding are unknown; motivation advice is omitted. Same author also writes the uShaka and Moses Mabhida accounts, so these are not independent-athlete counts. Historical night-race experience does not rate the changed 2026 daytime route.

  • The original programme verifies 10 October 2026, 5.5 km and twenty-two advertised challenges through Gold Reef City and the Apartheid Museum. The final race-day note describes constructed climbing/crawling obstacle zones and the museum as an experience zone without obstacles.
  • This is the new daytime edition after earlier night races. Older retained text says twenty-four challenges and includes a Durban beachfront feature; neither overrides the final 2026 outline. The main start-time block and later batch timetable also differ, so no single earliest start is asserted. The 3 km Mini is excluded from adult formats.
