The writer chooses the nominal 10 km and finishes in under two hours, reporting 9.44 km on their GPS. They enjoy the region, downhill slide and cold water but encounter mass-start queues, find the obstacles too easy, and miss the closed major waterslide.
Complete original first-person report posted 16 November 2017; exact raced day is unstated. The 20 km explanation is not proof of a two-lap finish. The original municipal newsletter confirms 15 July 2017 at 16:00, with a 10 km/370 m obstacle lap that could be run once or twice. Its event page and final calendar both give that day. The date is historical; later directory entries do not establish an upcoming event.
The directory’s 4.3/5 from nine cards includes an explicitly old Obertauern review, so the whole average is withheld from Flachau. The written Flachau summary excludes that card and does not recompute a selected-card score. The 2017 participant’s GPS distance is personal, not a certified course measurement.
