the nomadic runner · 2017
Enjoys the camaraderie and volunteers’ support but finds repeated cold-water obstacles, long penalties and overnight laps mentally draining and sometimes monotonous. Is proud of reaching her personal goal and wants to return.
The complete original 11–12 November 2017 Lake Las Vegas narrative and conclusion were read. It describes six laps, obstacle-failure penalties and a finish around twenty-three hours, rather than verified full twenty-four-hour continuous completion or every obstacle passed. The nominal five-mile lap and penalty distances are historical descriptions, not certified personal mileage or results. The Orphan Tent provides volunteer support; personal entry funding is unstated. This is the same writer as the two Australian Spartan accounts, not an independent athlete at each venue. Medical, training and kit prescriptions are excluded; no numerical overall is supplied.
