Reports and event feedback

  • Buff Granny — a demanding Beast with support from family ↗

    Buff Granny / unnamed personal-blog author · 2014

Finds the steep climbs and difficult descents exceptionally demanding but loves the experience and encouragement from companions. Describes satisfaction at finishing a course that exceeded her expectations.

The complete 27 September 2014 Sun Peaks Beast section and conclusion were read within the same monthly post as Red Deer. The writer reports 23.4 kilometres and twenty-six obstacles and says she paid her Trifecta fees; measurements and results are unverified. Her companions are not additional reviews. Personal medical history and training advice are not part of this course assessment. This is a 2014 Beast experience, rather than the later Sprint programme.

  • Glenn Hole — rewarding mountain terrain with some obstacle bottlenecks ↗

Glenn Hole / Obstacle Racing Media participant reporter · 2016

Praises the demanding climbs, heavy carries, mountain views and technical trails. Notes a log-crawl bottleneck and conflicting volunteer instructions, and finds the travel demanding.

The complete original narrative and conclusion were read. Published 30 September 2016, it identifies his Sun Peaks Beast experience; the exact raced day is unstated. Course figures are personal estimates, and his medical explanations and training or travel advice are excluded. Funding is unstated. His description of a perfect experience supplies no numerical value or stated maximum and is not converted into a score.

  • Stefan Wieclawek — second-lap encouragement makes the Ultra memorable ↗

Stefan Wieclawek / guest participant account introduced by Glenn Hole · 2016

Finds the mountain course challenging and especially values the encouragement from volunteers, spectators and later-wave Beast runners during his second lap. Says he would return.

The complete guest account and conclusion were read in Glenn Hole’s 30 September 2016 publication. It describes a reported roughly fifty-kilometre Ultra Beast with two laps; exact raced day, measured distance, placing and personal funding are unverified. The writer’s account of other runners yielding space is historical experience, not a current priority rule. The trailing rating-plugin shortcode supplies no rendered overall score.

  • Jessica Bleasdale — an enormous challenge, strong support and missing finish items ↗

Jessica Bleasdale / Canadian Mudd Queens participant account · 2014

Values the mountain trails, encouragement from volunteers and other racers and the satisfaction of completing a major personal challenge. Criticizes discrepancies between promised and received finish items and describes particularly demanding carries and climbing.

The complete original account and conclusion were read. Published 2 October 2014, it describes her 2014 Sun Peaks Ultra Beast from a back-of-the-pack perspective. She reports two laps and conflicting forty-four-to-fifty-kilometre GPS figures versus an organizer-stated forty-seven kilometres; none is independently measured. Exact raced day and funding are unstated. Reported cutoff changes, finish-item issues and performance are personal historical accounts; medical history, hydration claims and training recommendations are excluded. No overall score is stated.

  • The original Spartan results pages identify Sun Peaks Resort as venue 26, with Sprint events on 27 September 2015 and 25 September 2016. The results headers and selected original event data establish the dates, property and OCR class; old backend status and zero ticket placeholders do not establish current operation or free entry.
  • The resort’s historical 2015/16 presentation separately lists 26–27 September Reebok Spartan Sprint, Beast and Ultra races on its summer-events page. That programme is distinct from the nearby ordinary trail and bike races. It advertises formats, rather than certifying actual distances or occurrence of every class.
  • The 2014 Beast and Ultra Beast and the 2016 longer-course reports below retain their own years and classes. Neither the 2016 Sprint date nor a generic modern distance is assigned to those accounts. Reported lengths and climbing figures are not independently measured; no current Sun Peaks Spartan edition is verified.
  • Two original Sprint event records expose no rating average or testimonial population. The reports’ praise, medal outcomes, times and descriptions of a perfect experience do not supply a numerical overall score.
