    Stephan Knopf · 2022

Knopf enjoyed the replacement swim-and-run format despite cycling being one of his strengths. He describes a two-loop swim with a short shore exit and four spectator-friendly running laps, and recounts his own race to the finish.

    Source context and limitations

First-person 2022 Erfurt account explicitly representing his McDonalds 3athlon team. This edition replaced cycling with a swim-and-run because of road works. It supplies historical event context, with no claim of riding or completing the regular triathlon.
