Charles Goire, event organizer, interviewed by Bruno Veillon

Goire says experienced licensed athletes had been entering the discovery race to compete for places, at the expense of the newcomers it was intended for. He explains that this led organizers to reserve the new 2013 XS option for non-licensed entrants and offer a separate S race to licensed athletes.

    Source context and limitations

Perspective: event staff; this affiliated account is not an independent participant review. Historical organizer assessment published on 4 June 2013. It concerns the composition of earlier discovery fields and the policy announced for 2013, not a participant’s review or the eligibility rules of the separately listed 2027 race. The article promotes the coming edition, and the organizer’s affiliation is explicit. Exact prior editions are unstated.
