Lou Plevell · 2025
The swimmer was concerned to lose his usual swim advantage when cold conditions caused the swim to be replaced by a one-mile run. He was nevertheless very pleased with his early-season race.
Source context and limitations
May 24, 2025 Clear Lake, Iowa: the scheduled Sprint was changed to run-bike-run because of cold water and air. This is modified-race context, not a completed swim/bike/run review or a claim about future weather decisions. The organizer moved the 2026 race to August 29; the old May conditions do not describe that edition.
