What racers and reviewers say
- WDRB NewsRaced 2024 · article · Positive
Local TV recap of the 10th annual race, run in hot weather. The race director said nearly 200 athletes were first-time triathletes and that the Sunday event sold out for the first time.
- Slowtwitch forum: IM Louisville, is it safe to swim?Raced 2008 · forum · Mixed
Thread about the same Ohio River stretch for IRONMAN Louisville (2008). One poster measured bacteria above safe levels in 3 of 5 weekly samples upstream; others swam without illness and said the issue is mainly after heavy rain. The main fear was a cancelled swim, which a poster saw at a Cincinnati race. Dated and about a different event, so low weight.
