Rachel enjoyed the event despite a late swim start, wind on the bike and missing a turn that added about three miles. She found the motorway-bridge steps on the two-lap run particularly noticeable on tired legs.

The spectator describes meeting his companion near the start of the bike, a strictly enforced dismount line and a walk to bike racking before the run. He assessed the two-lap run as moderately easy and thought the dismount marshal over-officious.
