  • Rock the Quarry 2018: a guided athlete’s race report ↗

    James Gilliard · 2018

James found the event tremendous fun and appreciated the cheering crowd after his swim. He was surprised that the next wave waited for his wave to leave the water, which made the swim feel more exposed, and recalled heat arriving during the run.

A historical 2018 swim/bike/run account by an athlete racing with a guide and tandem bike. His starting-wave experience and weather apply to that edition. The report does not establish the exact formal division or all leg distances, so this is event context rather than a current sprint-course assessment.
