What racers say

    James Adams · 2013

James enjoyed the race and bike-shop atmosphere afterward, but found shuttle logistics cumbersome and bathroom queues long. The bike felt relentlessly hilly, and steep trail climbs and stairs interrupted his running rhythm.

August 2013 Chula Vista Challenge: reported1500m swim,40km bike and a run advertised6.5miles. The modern CVC uses a different, single-park bayfront layout; old shuttle, hills and trail details do not describe that course. Historical context only. The author raced for Wattie Ink and received a post-race massage.
