  • Islandman: a first triathlon and lessons about learning ↗

    Karl Kapp · 2009

Karl enjoyed completing Islandman with his family, although the beach sand made running difficult. As a first-timer he felt nervous about transitions and found the real race more instructive than preparation alone.

Historical 2009 Islandman participant account: quarter-mile swim, 12-mile bike and 5K beach run. This describes his adult race, not Islandkids. It does not establish unchanged conditions for the current edition.
