    Michelle found packet pickup straightforward and liked the friendly, inexpensive local event. She describes waiting about an hour for a pool lane, volunteers counting swim laps, a quiet but partly traffic-shared bike route with some rough patches and an uphill return, then a warm run and simple post-race snacks.
