August found the choppy swim harder than expected and paused when waves hit his face. Wind gusts also made the bike challenging.
August 24, 2025 overall-winner interview during storm remnants. The reported course was 400 yards, 15.4 miles and 3.1 miles. The current primary restores a different 17.4-mile bike loop after a road reopening. This is historical course and weather context, not typical conditions or a current-course assessment.
