What racers say
- Green Lake: a registered athlete’s decision to skip a smoky race day ↗
u/blaqkkitten · 2026
The registered athlete chose not to start after seeing smoky conditions on race morning. They wanted clearer communication about the organizer’s cancellation criteria and felt disappointed that the conditions disrupted her planned race.
Community opinion; participation and firsthand experience are not established. Attributed community context from a registered athlete who explicitly did not participate. The complete Wisconsin/Green Lake discussion concerns July 2026 and includes a participant’s separate report that everyone was moved to Sprint. Air-quality readings, health effects, email delivery and organizer motives are not independently verified. This is a withdrawal perspective, not a finisher review or a current safety assessment.
