    Jeroen De Meester · 2026

De Meester found the early mass-start swim congested but soon settled. The bike brought a sustained climb, wind, uneven riding rhythm and traffic; one stopping car impeded him. He enjoyed meeting teammates on the run and was pleased with his finish.

    Source context and limitations

Complete firsthand 2026 Half report on the athlete’s own website. The reported bike is 93 km, not 90 km. Traffic, cold fingers and weather concern that edition; his forgotten nutrition and lost bottle are personal incidents, not failures of race supplies.

Stéphane, quoted by Thierry Place · 2026

Stéphane says he struggled badly but liked the terrain and setting. His club’s report describes a muddy transition, a hilly and windy bike leg including the Madone climb, and a demanding run alternating road and paths around the lake.

    Source context and limitations

Named participant quotation within Thierry Place’s 2026 Annonay Triathlon club report. The quote concerns Stéphane’s Half race; the article’s separate Olympic entrants are not given his experience. His surname and an exact run distance are not inferred from results or another athlete’s report.
