Reports and event feedback

  • Castaic racer values the grassroots fundraiser and calm swim but notes rough bike surfaces ↗

    Joshua Izumigawa / Daiz Biz · 2017

Joshua enjoyed the local school fundraiser’s volunteer atmosphere, calm lake swim and supportive crowd. The bike had potholes and speed bumps, while the park run felt hillier and harder than expected. He was pleased to medal and break an hour, noting the event’s manual timing and simple signs.

    Source context and limitations

Historical Castaic Lake event: quarter-mile swim, 10-mile bike and 3-mile run, published September 2, 2017. Family-level context before the Cal Tri era, not a current Sprint or Olympic course review. The 2024 organizer explicitly announced a new bike course. Old surfaces, police support, hand timing and awards are not current operating claims. Personal and other racers’ medical details are omitted. No organizer affiliation is stated.
