- Go Girl 2017: a first-timer’s difficult race and mutual encouragement ↗
Crystal Anne Belen · 2017
Crystal found the open-water swim much harder than expected and received boat assistance. Mechanical trouble later forced her to walk part of the bike course, but encouraging another athlete helped change her outlook; she valued the people she met despite a difficult day.
Source context and limitations
A personal 2017 Go Girl account from the former Indianapolis/Eagle Creek venue, published by the athlete’s fitness employer as part of a training-program series. The swim was partly boat-assisted and the bike included walking, so this is historical event-family context, not proof of an unassisted or officially classified finish. The current event is at Red Bridge Park in Cicero with different distances and courses; old hills, assistance and experiences are not current-course claims. No numerical rating is assigned.
