    Peter Vega · 2021

Vega describes a closely contested race in bad weather, with the swim shortened for safety. He worked with two rivals during the 26 km bike breakaway before the race was decided on the run, and felt good despite not being at his best.

    Source context and limitations

Direct 2021 national Sprint championship athlete interview in Panamá América. Rough conditions shortened the swim to about 200 m; a26 km bike leg is reported, while the run distance is unstated. This is historical Sprint-championship context, not a current course or conditions guarantee.
