    Julie Threlkeld · 2011

Threlkeld found the cross-country hills demanding even at an easy effort, but enjoyed the run. She describes a 1.5-mile out-and-back on the route marked with tortoise-and-hare signs.

    Source context and limitations

Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Historical course context from a December 2011 training run, years before VCP50k began. The current organizer names the historic Tortoise and Hare cross-country course, but this account covers only a partial out-and-back and does not establish today's exact alignment, conditions, race support or the difficulty of completing ten loops. It is not VCP50k participation.
