    The runner enjoyed the event and wanted to return. Repeated laps made it useful to reach snacks, water and spare clothing regularly, although the first loop felt difficult and the night section was uncomfortable for them.

    Source context and limitations

    A complete personal account of the inaugural Wekiwa Springs Ultra in early 2025, including a self-reported twelve-hour effort of more than 33 miles (53.1 km). The current organizer explicitly identifies Florida Outlaw Ultra as its renamed successor with a new Carney Island venue and course for 2027. This historical experience does not describe the new course, current services or present conditions. Equipment discomfort and that day’s cold are the writer’s own experience, not a general safety assessment.
