    Andrea Larson · 2022

Larson’s shakeout run on the McMiller ski trails left her expecting more short, sharp hills than on the nearby singletrack.

    Source context and limitations

Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Outside-event course perspective from June 2022. Larson was scouting for the separate Kettle Moraine 100, not taking part in HELIOS. HELIOS explicitly uses McMiller trail loops; only her personal observations of that named trail system are included. Her exact scouting loop is not identified, and this summer visit does not establish the autumn race’s footing, organization, aid or finish experience.
