The hiker enjoyed Mystic Canyon’s views but found its opening climb steep, rutted and loose underfoot.

    Source context and limitations

Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Outside-race course-preview context on Mystic Canyon Trail, a named segment in Dalton Canyon Ultra’s proposed route. The writer hiked up the segment while the proposed race descends it, so the opening-climb description is not the race’s direction. The account describes actual hiking and repeated hiking and biking there; photographs are dated February 2023, but the exact hike date is not independently established. This does not assess the whole future 50K course, race services or present trail conditions. The publisher discloses affiliate links.
