The hiker found the steep hills and wet leaves challenging, but enjoyed the solitude. The report also describes getting off route around a temporary logging diversion.

    Source context and limitations

Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Outside-race backpacking perspective from December 18–19, 2021. Adventure Trail Ultras now explicitly uses O’Bannon Woods’ 25-mile Adventure Trail loop. This historical hiker took detours and sometimes other trails; the account is not a race review, an ultra finish or a description of today’s navigation, diversions or support. The original Reddit account has been deleted.
