What racers and reviewers say
- RaceCheck: AnonymousRaced 2018 · aggregator · Positive
The Legend is an awesome introduction to half iron distance. A long beach walk to the swim start, a tough swim first into then across the current, a well-laid-out T1, a 56-mile bike exceptional for views with some gruelling climbs, then a two-lap forest run finishing on the beach.
- RaceCheck: AnonymousRaced 2018 · aggregator · Positive
Calls it the best triathlon he has done: a stunning location with a Snowdonia backdrop, a course that pushes you to the limit, brilliant organisation, lots of marshals and easy registration.
- RaceCheck: AnonymousRaced 2017 · aggregator · Positive
Local athlete: transition in the main beach car park, a swim in the sheltered bay and a run entirely off-road. Calls it possibly the most beautiful place for a triathlon, with great marshalling.
- RaceCheck: AnonymousRaced 2017 · aggregator · Positive
First Always Aim High event: Friday-night registration in a lively event village, parking in spitting distance of transition, plenty of toilets and a pleasant start across the sand.
- RaceCheck: AnonymousRaced 2017 · aggregator · Positive
Standard-distance entrant who beat the previous year's waves; sea was calm in 2017 and the swim is friendly because it runs along the beach 50 m (164 ft) out. Bike is challenging.
