    Marcus Barton · 2026

    Ultra

Marcus praised the small field’s thoughtful organization, personal atmosphere and mutual encouragement. He liked the singletrack, found the uneven pasture demanding and described rain making the later laps very slippery. His crew’s support mattered throughout.

A firsthand April 2026 backyard-race report, with a reported 79.8-mile win. Course and weather impressions belong to that edition. Marcus also coached the friend who invited him and includes product links; no independent sponsorship claim is inferred.

    Kinsey Plachy

Event context · see format details

Kinsey said she had a blast cheering on the runners.

Perspective: spectator; this is not a finisher review. A brief original spectator comment on the organizer’s inaugural Peak to Peak to Peak recap. The comment describes her own cheering experience; it does not claim a race finish or an official volunteer role. Its exact year is not stated in the comment. The event family is the 28-mile, three-store Omaha race, not the older Peak to Peak event. Her joking remark about reaching crosswalks is not used to judge current traffic arrangements, course safety or race organization.

This walker enjoyed the river views and wildlife along Lowell Riverfront Trail, but reported a fenced-off northern section and road-access construction. They recommended allowing time for the projects to finish.

Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Independent walking observations of Lowell Riverfront Trail from September 2026, after the listed April race date. This is narrow shared-trail familiarity, not attendance at the Pirate race or a marathon course review. The walker liked the river views and wildlife and reported construction and road detours on the northern stretch. Those observations do not establish race-day conditions, services, current trail completion or the full course. The race’s currently linked detour map and printed repetition/distance instructions conflict, so the actual race route remains unconfirmed.

    Peter Burnham

Event context · see format details

Burnham called it a great day and said he would return.

Community opinion; participation and firsthand experience are not established. A very brief community comment posted in August 2026 on the organizer’s timed-ultra retrospective at the same Prospect Acres Ranch. The actual outing’s date is unconfirmed; this is event-family context, not a review of the selected April 18, 2026 registration. Attendance, role, entered duration and distance are not established by the commenter. The organizer thanked him for making the trip, but this is not a verified running finish. No current course, services, weather or numerical rating is inferred.

  • Tradition 2012: good overall organization with cramped transition ↗

Ginger Spansel (Living The Tri Life) · 2012

Event context · see format details

Ginger thought the second-year race did a good job overall and appreciated the early-arrival giveaway. She found the transition racks too close, disliked the time-trial swim start and found the bike hillier than expected. Her own run performance disappointed her.

Historical 2012 participant account. Full course dimensions are not established. The blog displays commercial ambassador affiliations, and the author won her age group. Current organization, course and arrangements may differ; this is not a current logistics or safety finding.

  • A returning spring racer described a mixed day ↗

    stephenpeterson · 2008

Event context · see format details

The writer enjoyed the lively pre-race atmosphere but struggled with the cold swim, his own bike problems and a demanding run hill. Encouragement from early finishers helped him push to the line; he improved his previous time despite missing his goal.

A firsthand historical spring-race report. The April 26, 2008 publication explicitly describes leaving the park that same morning, anchoring the edition; the current April event and later seasonal race remain separate. His historical bike leg was 12 miles, compared with the current primary’s 13.8 miles, and his wave start differs from today’s time-trial description. No unchanged course, present weather, water quality, safety or service promise is inferred. His bike malfunction was his own equipment issue. Family, medical and body-image details, exact performance figures, age-based comparisons and another late finisher’s experience are omitted. No race-related affiliation is disclosed; independence is not verified.

  • BillBone Olympic 2026: Matt Sharpe enjoyed the atmosphere after returning to racing ↗

Matt Sharpe, speaking with Jeff Sankoff on Tempo Talks · 2026

    Olympic triathlon

Matt found returning to racing physically difficult but fun, and enjoyed the energy of the other athletes. His positive experience was tempered by frustration about a collision involving racers that he and his co-host discussed afterward.

One athlete’s account in the April 17, 2026 podcast. He thanks Bill Bone for inviting him, so the invitation is a relevant affiliation. His own racing experience is firsthand; the collision discussion does not independently establish its cause, eyewitness status or a general course-safety finding. The account describes that edition, not current conditions. No numerical rating is supplied.
