Erica Hawley; Nicholas Pilgrim, interviewed by Mehluli Sibanda · 2026
Sprint triathlon
Hawley enjoyed returning to short-course racing and described a flat, fast bike course, while criticizing uneven compliance with the swim-start rope. Pilgrim felt good in the chase pack but found cooperation limited; he liked his run performance and believed the run was longer than advertised.
Original interviews following the March 27, 2026 elite Sprint. These are the two athletes’ subjective accounts; the claimed run-length discrepancy is not an independently verified measurement. Their experiences do not describe the separate age-group CLASH or collegiate championship races at the same venue.

The writer called the Ann Arbor Y race a successful start to the season and thanked friends for pushing him throughout the race.
A firsthand indoor-race caption posted March 11, 2024 by the public account connor_dunn06. The writer describes a 15-minute swim, 25-minute bike and 20-minute run, calls it a successful start to the season, and thanks friends for pushing him throughout the race. The exact edition date remains unverified. His thanks concern his own peers, not organizer staffing or current services. The caption tags Michigan State’s triathlon team and Transition 3 Triathlon; no paid relationship or gifted entry is established. Only the complete written caption was reviewed, not the carousel images.

Rosangelasilva / AventureBox · 2018
Obstacle
A first-time participant enjoys the quarry scenery and teamwork, describing assisted walls, two failed obstacles replaced with exercises, and a medal finish. She finds one obstacle crowded, the two-minute communal shower inadequate and leaves before enjoying the village.
Complete original Portuguese account read. Own outing: 25 March 2018, nominal 5 km/15 obstacles, Pedreira Anhanguera in Cajamar. A separate contemporary calendar labels that exact date/venue Speed 1. She reports twenty jumping jacks after the rope wall and, she thinks, twenty squats after repeated ramp failures; a fall at the fire obstacle and assistance remain explicit. No finish time or satisfaction number. Historical context only: the 2026 Speed I venue/distance remain unconfirmed. Hiking-group participation is disclosed; entry funding unstated. Named and anonymous HDsports contributors
Obstacle
Opinions are mixed: writers praise scenery, support, refreshments and warm showers, while others find fewer varied obstacles and poorer value than the old Zillingtal event. A named entrant reports being refused a transferred entry despite bringing signed paperwork; this is an entry experience rather than a completed race.
Historical Donnerskirchen list: nine cards posted in 2024 and February 2025, including score-only entries, a 13+ km title and a nonstarter’s complaint. Exact raced days/distances are generally unknown; later posting/edit dates do not date an edition. Common aliases and repeated contributors are not independently verified athletes. The native aggregate concerns the former programme, not the changed 2026 5 km/eight-hour format.

Perry (perrystrails) · 2014
Ultra
Perry liked the beautiful park, stocked aid stations and finish party that was still lively when he arrived late. Early trail congestion and repeated loops were drawbacks; encouragement from his companion and a co-director helped him continue through a personal illness to finish.
Reported format: 50 km (31.1 miles).

Sprint triathlon
Christie enjoyed the early-season race and praised the director’s care for athletes. Starting farther forward improved her pool swim; she described two uphill/downhill bike loops and a run that climbed early before descending to the finish.
Historical American Fork sprint: 300 m pool swim, 12-mile bike and 3.1-mile run. Course, distance and organizer may differ today.
Christie · 2015
Sprint triathlon
The returning athlete called Ice Breaker her favorite sprint and praised RaceTri’s organization. She appreciated warming up on a trainer on a cold morning, although her race time fell short of her own expectations.

A local cyclist described the paved trail through Chiawana Park as wide and fairly smooth, with some welcome tree cover at its western end. The approach from the east was rougher, so the favorable surface description did not apply to every nearby riverfront section.
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Outside-race cycling observations from October 2020 on the Chiawana Park and adjoining riverfront portion of the Sacagawea Heritage Trail. The current organizer map uses this physical area, but its stored timestamp is October 2026, after the March 21 race; this does not confirm the exact race-day route. The account does not review the full repeated marathon, race aid, staffing or present trail condition. No organizer affiliation is stated.

Sandra Friend (Florida Hikes)
Event context · see format details
Sandra Friend’s field guide describes the southern Lakewood trail network as a pleasant walk among pines and palms. Curves in the broad graded paths repeatedly hide the next turn, while narrow footpath detours explore denser vegetation.
Perspective: course preview outside the race; race-day execution is not established. Undated outside-race hiking context, limited to the southern wooded paths shared with part of the current mapped route. The guide also follows narrow footpath detours that may differ from the marathon, so its pine-needle footing does not describe the race surface. Exact visit dates and earlier race-day routes remain unknown; the organizer map was stored in October 2026. This does not review the repeated marathon, aid, staffing or present conditions. The hiking-guide authors disclose earnings from book and affiliate links.

Jessica Anne described a busy third indoor-series event in which improved athlete times overtook the planned stagger. She praised her team’s work handling the day and felt participants left with positive energy and new goals.
Perspective: event staff; this affiliated account is not an independent participant review. A firsthand event-staff reflection posted March 30, 2024. The writer speaks about her team and managers delivering the third NorthPointe indoor event; her exact job title, race edition and segment distances are not established.
